You can order an ebook on Amazon, Apple Books, Barnes & Noble, BookShop, and other booksellers.

Want

Not ready to commit? Adding Emerald Eyes to your “Want to Read” list on Goodreads, BookShop, The StoryGraph, or similar platforms drives visibility, signals demand to independent booksellers and librarians, powers the recommendation algorithm, and attracts readers. 

Engage 

Generate buzz on social media.

Follow me (see list in footer):

• Like my social media posts.

• Comments signal engagement to algorithms, which boosts post reach and visibility.

• Share posts about my book with your own comment, which expands reach, signals value to platform algorithms, and helps me build an audience of potential readers. Include @ Caroline Langer and #EmeraldEyesNovel.

Post on whatever social platform you use (even if I’m not yet on it) to bring visibility to new audiences. Ideas:

• “Got my book” — Photo of book with something uniquely yours—you, a pet or even just the background. Tag me (when possible) and consider using the hashtag #EmeraldEyesNovel.

• “Reading this book” — Shot of book with a note. Perhaps you’re reading it your typical setting or on vacation or at your favorite coffee shop. #EmeraldEyesNovel and @ me.

• “Read this book” — Picture of cover and why you (hopefully) enjoyed the novel. #EmeraldEyesNovel and @ me.

Review

This is a big-Big-BIG way to help me: Write a review*. It doesn’t need to be long; one or two sentences or a brief paragraph will significantly support my novel by helping readers who might enjoy it to learn that the book exists. (And I remind myself again: Reviews are not for me, they are for my potential audience.)

No matter how you got the book—preorder, purchase, library loan, Beta Reader**, ARC Team**—your honest reaction to the book will help search algorithms on those platforms (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, The StoryGraph, etc.), surface the book to other readers.

* Regarding “negative” reviews: I don’t expect my book will appeal to all my friends. We each have different tastes. If my story doesn’t resonate because you prefer a different genre, or you didn’t feel compelled to complete the novel, no worries. Feel free to skip writing a review or do whatever you consider most helpful to the reading community. If you believe I deserve a low star review because I put out a poorly crafted book (and, no, I did not use AI), again, do what you honestly believe will help other readers decide whether to take a chance on my novel.

** FTC Disclosure — For members of my ARC Team and Beta Readers, the law requires you to state you received a free copy. Be sure to paste this exact sentence at the end of your review: “I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.”

If you don’t see my novel at your local library or in your favorite local bookstores, request that they order copies of Emerald Eyes by Caroline Langer. 

Network

I’m happy to attend events (in person when possible) to talk about my book. Do you belong to a bookclub? A women’s club? Have an “in” with a venue that might host author events? Know anyone with a podcast or newsletter or who works in traditional media? Have a group of gals who want to talk about books over wine or cocktails or coffee?
